This study examined “Labour Turnover and Productivity in Kaduna South Local Government”. The design of the study is survey method. Purposefully, three objectives guided the study: to identify the causes of staff turnover; to determine the effects of staff turnover on productivity; and to identify the possible solutions to minimize labour turnover in Kaduna South Local Government. The researcher used descriptive and survey designs to carry out the study. The sample size of the population was 400. So 400 questionnaires were administered to 400 respondents, but only 380 were considered valid. The data obtained was analysed using simple percentage. In the analysis, it was found that in Kaduna South Local Government Area (i) irregular payment, less salary, improper management, better job option, job insecurity and behavior at root level are the major causes of labour turnover; (ii) separation, replacement, training, poor service delivery, new knowledge and technology and promotion for stayers are the major effects of labour turnover on productivity; and (iii) standard salary structure, standard increment, medical facilities and employees’ rearrangement/posting are the major possible solution to minimize labour turnover. Based on the findings, conclusion was drawn and recommendations given such as: there should be standard salary structure minimize labour turnover in Kaduna South Local Government Area in particular and Nigeria in general.
